Marco Borsato “Duizend Spiegels” Tour comes to Curaçao

foto duizend spiegels 2Fundashon Bon Intenshon, together with Mojo Concerts, brings Marco Borsato to Curaçao for a concert on the Kleine Werf in Willemstad on May 3, 2014.  The concert on Curaçao is part of the Duizend Spiegels (Thousand Mirrors) Tour along all twelve provinces of the Netherlands starting in April 2014.

The title refers to the role music plays. Marco Borsato: “A song can have the effect of a thousand mirrors; a text may be interpreted by a thousand people in a thousand different ways.Marco Borsato_cd presentatie23

And all these versions are equally true because each personal interpretation reflects something about oneself and about your personal history.”

The new album Duizend Spiegels offers a rich blend of styles and moods. The first two singles that have been released: Muziek and Ik Zou Het Zo Weer Overdoen reached the #1 position in the Mega Top 100 in no-time. A week before its official release on November 22, 2013, the album has already received a platinum award for 50,000 copies sold.

Fundashon Bon Intenshon president Gregory Elias: “We are honored to be part of this large-scale tour and especially that Marco is coming to Willemstad which, in the meantime, has become The Capital of the Kingdom with our new king, HRH Willem Alexander! For quite a number of years, the foundation has been very active in bridging the cap between the two parts of the Kingdom by organizing all sorts of culture and sports projects.Memphis Maniacs

This event fits perfectly in our philosophy.”

The opening act for the concert of May 3, 2014, will be none other than the Dutch mash-up band Memphis Maniacs. This band doesn’t perform its own songs but plays mixes (so-called ‘mash-ups’) of popular songs in different genres and styles. This will be the second time for Memphis Maniacs in Curaçao: in 2012 they were the opening act for the concert of Bløf. The enormously popular band performed on sold-out pop stages in De Melkweg and Tivoli and at the large festivals such as Lowlands and Parkpop.

Information regarding ticket sales will be announced soon. Any news regarding the Curaçao concert can be also be found on  www.facebook.com/MarcoBorsatoCuracao
